Women's Tennis Ends Season

5/20/05 - The Middlebury women's tennis team officially ended its season as they fell to Amherst, 5-4 in the NCAA third place match. The Panthers trailed 2-1 after the doubles matches, but made it interesting in singles play with the contest coming down to the final match. Amy Roche, Claire Smyser and Emily Holick each earned wins in singles play.

3.  Kristen Raverta defeats Amanda Berck (M), 5-7, 6-2, 6-3

4.  Claire Smyser (M) defeats Hadley Miller, 6-3, 6-4

5.  Emily Holick (M) defeats Monica Snyder, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4

6.  Katie Hudson defeats Amy Berkman (M), 6-2, 6-3

Doubles:

1.  Hedrick/Holt defeat Ross/Smyser (M), 8-5

2.  Haverta/Snyder defeat Berck/Roche (M), 8-4

3.  Holick/Maren Messing (M) defeat Murphy/Stein, 9-8 (2)
