Women's Tennis Headed To Williams For NCAA Regional

The Middlebury College women's tennis team will make its sixth trip to the NCAA Tournament when they travel to Williams for a regional from May 8th-10th. Middlebury will take on the winner of the Endicott/Wellesley match on Saturday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. while Williams battles the winner of the Vassar/Simmons contest at 8:00 a.m. The winners meet in the regional final with a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals on the line at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
The Middlebury women enter the weekend with a record of 7-6 in NCAA Tournament play. The Panthers advanced to the semifinals in '05 and the quarterfinals in '07 before missing the tourney a year ago. Middlebury is currently ranked third in the Northeast and 15th nationally in the latest ITA polls. Victoria Aiello is ranked seventh in singles play in the Northeast, while Chandra Kurien is 11th. The doubles team of Kurien and Elizabeth Stone are ranked fifth in the Northeast.
