Women's Tennis Earns NCAA Bid

The Middlebury College women's tennis team will make its seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament when they travel to Amherst for a regional from May 14-16. Middlebury will take on the winner of the Bowdoin/Castleton match on Saturday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m., while Amherst battles the winner of the Colby-Sawyer/Simmons contest at the same time. The winners meet in the regional final with a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals on the line at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Middlebury women enter the weekend with a record of 8-7 in NCAA Tournament play. The Panthers advanced to the semifinals in '05, the quarterfinals in '07 and have made the tournament seven times in the last eight years. Middlebury is currently ranked fourth in the Northeast and 12th nationally in the latest ITA polls.
