Women's Tennis Topped In NESCAC Semi's

Amherst defeated Middlebury (10-5) by a score of 5-3 in the NESCAC Semifinals in a contest played at Middlebury College. The Jeffs (16-1) advance to Sunday’s title match at 1:00 p.m. against the winner of the Williams/Tufts contest.

Amherst took two of three doubles matches, with Middlebury’s Leah Kepping and Brittany Faber emerging with an 8-6 win over Jordan Brewer and Gabby Devlin at #1.

Middlebury tied the match at 2-2 when Victoria Aiello defeated Jordan Brewer 6-4, 3-0, (ret.) in the #1 singles slot. Laken King earned a win at #6, followed by a victory at #4 for Caroline Richman to give the Jeffs a 4-2 lead. Middlebury’s Leah Kepping brought the Panthers within one at 4-3 with a win at #2 singles. Devlin later sealed the match for Amherst, defeating Brittney Faber 6-1, 6-4 in #3 singles.
