Women's Tennis Headed To NCAA's

The Middlebury College women's tennis team will make its eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last nine years when they travel to Amherst for a regional from May 13-15. Middlebury will take on the winner of the Castleton (13-1)/Skidmore (10-8) match on Saturday, May 14th at 1:00 p.m., while Amherst (16-2) battles the winner of the New Paltz (15-4)/Simmons (15-5) contest at the same time. The winners meet in the regional final on Sunday at noon.

The Middlebury women enter the weekend with a record of 9-8 in NCAA Tournament play. The Panthers advanced to the semifinals in ’05, the quarterfinals in ’07 and have made the tournament eight times in the last nine years. Middlebury is currently ranked 10th in the latest (4/14) ITA National poll.

First Round - Friday, May 13

Castleton/Skidmore winner vs. Middlebury (10-5) – 1:00 p.m.
