Women's Tennis Advances To NESCAC Semifinals

Middlebury advanced to the NESCAC semifinals with a 6-0 win over Trinity in a first-round match played at Williams. The Panthers will take on Amherst on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. with the winner advancing to Sunday’s title match. Middlebury improved to 14-2 on the year, while Trinity falls to 10-6.

The Panthers took a 3-0 lead after doubles play, including an 8-0 victory at #2 by Anna Burke and Lok-Sze Leung over Kelsey Semrod and Frances Cameron. Middlebury won 8-1 at #1 and 8-4 at #3.

Leah Kepping made it a 4-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at #3, while Leung followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hilary Hoyt in the #1 slot. Katie Paradies’ 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 over Caroline Gagne occurred at the same time as Leung’s victory, sealing the victory at for the Panthers at 6-0.
