Women's Tennis To Host NCAA Regional

The Middlebury College women's tennis team will make its ninth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last 10 years when they host a six-team regional from May 11-13. Middlebury will take on the winner of the Ithaca/Scranton match on Saturday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m., while Bowdoin meets the Wellesley/Mt. St. Mary winner at 2:00 p.m. The winners meet in the regional final on Sunday at noon.  Check out the OFFICIAL REGIONAL WEBSITE.

The Middlebury women enter the weekend with a record of 10-9 in NCAA Tournament play and a record of 14-3 in ’11-’12. The Panthers advanced to the semifinals in ’05 and the quarterfinals in ’07 and are currently ranked fourth in the latest ITA National poll. The Panthers opened the season 11-0 before falling 6-3 at top-ranked Williams. Middlebury has played 11 matches against teams ranked in the top 20, falling only to Williams and third-ranked Amherst twice.

Wellesley (16-6) vs. Mt. St. Mary (NY) (13-3) - 2:00 p.m.

Second Round - Saturday, May 12
Ithaca/Scranton winner vs. Middlebury (10-5) – 10:00 a.m.
Wellesley/Mt. St. Mary winner vs. Bowdoin (11-8) - 2:00 p.m.

Regional Finals - Sunday, May 13 - 12:00 p.m.
