Women's Tennis Players Bound For NCAA's

Middlebury College women's tennis players Brittney Faber (Minnetonka, Minn.), Leah Kepping (Northport, N.Y.) and Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) will represent the team at the 2012 NCAA Individual Championships. Leung and Kepping will play in the 32-person singles bracket, while Faber and Kepping will take part in the 16-team doubles event. Matches begin on Thursday, May 24th with matches taking place at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

Leung was recently named the NESCAC Player and Rookie of the Year as well as a first-team singles and second-team doubles selection. The rookie has enjoyed a stellar season for the Panthers in her first year on campus. Leung has earned a record of 30-2 entering NCAA play, including a 13-match winning streak. This past fall, she captured the ITA National Singles Title at the event held in Alabama.

Kepping was a second-team All-NESCAC selection, playing at #3 this season for the Panthers. She has an impressive 23-5 record this year, with 10 wins in her last 11 matches.

Faber and Kepping earned a first-team All-NESCAC spot as a doubles pair for the second straight year. The juniors were reunited on March 10th as a doubles pair this spring. Since then, they have enjoyed a record of 14-4 and have won eight of their last nine matches. A year ago, the duo earned All-American honors.
