Women's Tennis - Leung Advances To Finals

Action continued on day two of the NCAA singles and doubles championships taking place at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Middlebury’s Lok-Sze Leung advanced to the NCAA Championship match after picking up a pair of wins on Friday.

Leung had little trouble with Katie Cecil of Carnegie Mellon in the quarterfinals, picking up a 6-1, 6-1 victory. In her semifinal match, Leung earned a 6-3 in the first set over Jordan Brewer of Amherst, before battling back to take a 7-5 victory in set #2.

Leung will now take on Kristin Lim of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in tomorrow's final, set for 9:00am. Live results and live video are available for the match.

After winning a pair of matches on Thursday, Middlebury rookie Ria Gerger fell 6-1, 6-4 to reigning NCAA Champion Gabrielle Clark of Emory.

On day two of doubles play, seniors Brittney Faber and Leah Kepping saw their NCAA tournament come to an end. The pair dropped a three-set match to Lim and Caroline Ward of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Faber and Kepping won the first set, 6-4, but Lim and Ward came back to win the final two sets, 6-1 and 6-3.
