Morgan is now in his eighth season at the helm of the women's tennis program at Middlebury. His teams are a combined 87-43 during his first seven seasons, with the ’07 and '13 squads advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Six of his seven teams have advanced to the NCAA Tournament, with the '09, '10, '11 and '12 squads falling in the regional finals. Following the ’08 season, Morgan was named the NESCAC Coach of the Year. Morgan was again honored in '12, being named the ITA National Coach of the Year. In the spring of '13, Middlebury's Lok Sze Leung won the NCAA singles title.

Morgan came to Middlebury from NESCAC member Colby, where he has served as the men’s and women’s head tennis coach since 2003-2004 as well as the assistant coach for men’s and women’s squash.

While at Colby, he was responsible for the creation of the Central Maine Tennis Association, a nonprofit organization designed to promote the game of tennis in the greater Waterville, Maine area. His teams were involved in the local school systems, and he twice had a player win the school’s highest leadership award among student athletes.

Morgan also has extensive experience on the squash courts, having worked with both the men’s and women’s programs as an assistant coach at Colby. He spent one season (’06-’07) as the women’s squash coach at Middlebury.

Morgan previously coached at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in California, where he led the men’s tennis team to an 8-0 record and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. His team rose to a number nine ranking in 2002-2003, with a doubles team capturing a national title in 2001-2002. Morgan led the Stags to the NCAA Tournament in each of his three years at the school.

Prior to arriving at Claremont, Morgan was an assistant men’s tennis coach at Notre Dame from 1997-2000 and the College of William and Mary in 1996-1997. He was the 2000 ITA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year at Notre Dame.

Morgan is a 1996 graduate of St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., where he was a scholarship tennis player.


Victoria Aiello

Former Middlebury College All-American Victoria Aiello ’12 joined the coaching staff in the spring of '14. She was a four-year member of the women’s tennis team at Middlebury, earning All-American honors on three different occasions. During her four years, the Panthers advanced to the NCAA Regionals each season, with Aiello advancing to the quarterfinals during her junior season.

She was named the NESCAC ITA Northeast Rookie of the Year in ’09, four times earning a spot on the All-NESCAC team. The two-time captain was also honored with the NESCAC’s Senior Sportsmanship Award. As an individual she was ranked as high as the top 10 among all Division III players throughout her career. She was also named the 2012 NESCAC Senior Sportswoman of the Year for women’s tennis.

The Milton, Massachusetts native graduated from Middlebury in May of ’12 with a degree in International Studies.
