Steve Monninger enters his 11th season as a football coach for his alma mater. In past seasons, Monninger has coached the offensive line, defensive line, and defensive back positions. He now serves the Panthers as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach.

Monninger is also the athletic department’s Strength & Conditioning coach. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

In the Spring, Monninger serves as an assistant coach with the three-time NCAA Championship men's lacrosse team.

A native of Westfield, NJ, Monninger played four years of linebacker for the Middlebury Football team while serving as captain during his senior year. While at Middlebury, he graduated with a degree in Geology and Geography. Monninger lives in Middlebury with his wife Caroline.
