Monninger enters his 12th year as an assistant football coach, serving as the team’s defensive coordinator.

A native of Westfield, New Jersey (Westfield HS), Monninger will return to coaching the defesnive backs after seven seasons of directing the linebackers.

A 1998 Middlebury graduate, Monninger earned his degree in geography/geology. He was a four-year linebacker for the Panthers, serving as captain during his senior year.

He is also the the football team's and athletic department's strength & conditioning coach. He is a certified strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS) and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

He is also an assistant with the three-time NCAA Championship men's lacrosse team in the spring.

He and his wife Caroline reside in Middlebury, with their son JJ.
