Now in his third season, McKenna joined the coaching staff after playing professional hockey for the previous two seasons. The ’09 Middlebury graduate earned his degrees in history of art and architecture and architectural study, while playing four years of hockey for the Panthers.

During his four years with the team, the Panthers earned an 83-24-8 (.757) mark, winning the NCAA Championship during his rookie season. The team advanced to the NCAA Finals during his sophomore season, after winning back-to-back NESCAC Championships. In his final two years at Middlebury, the Panthers advanced to the NESCAC title game, with McKenna serving as team captain as a senior. He ended his career with 46 goals and 73 assists for 119 points in 97 games played.

Following his senior season, McKenna earned second-team All-American honors, while owning a spot on the All-NESCAC and All-New England first-teams.

Upon graduation, McKenna played professionally in Sweden, playing in Spain the following year. He has worked numerous hockey camps throughout his career in his hometown of Lake Placid, N.Y.
