The Bread Loaf School of English

Financial Aid

No interested applicant with strong credentials should fail to apply because of financial need.

Financial aid is available in the form of grants and loans. The aid is awarded on the basis of financial need and scholastic achievement on a first-come, first-served basis.

On-campus student jobs are available in Vermont and New Mexico.

New and returning students who wish to be considered for financial aid offered through Middlebury College must file a Bread Loaf Financial Aid Form with the Office of Student Financial Services. Students must complete a new form for each summer. Forms for summer 2014 are available through the Bread Loaf website; students may apply online or they may download a paper form.

Completed applications for financial aid should be submitted as early as possible. Aid decisions are made beginning in January: decisions will be made after an applicant is accepted to Bread Loaf or, for returning students, officially re-enrolled.
