Doug directs a dynamic Center staff including activities planning, student organization advising, outdoor programs, leadership development, and student center operations. He directly advises the Middlebury College Activities Board, facilitates leadership development programs and coordinates student center operations. In addition, he advises student publications and media, assists in building planning and coordinates activities planning with the Commons. Doug holds a BA in Government and Ed.S. in Higher Education Administration from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a M.S. in Counseling/ College Student Personnel from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.

If you have a question about student organizations or office functions, the Assistant Director is your best resource. In addition to assisting Middlebury's 140+ student organizations with program and budget planning, she teaches leadership development, advises the Student Government Association's Finance and Constitution Committees, and assists with Orientation. JJ joins Middlebury from the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she was Director of Student Leadership Development. She holds an MS in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a BA in English and German from Western Maryland College.
DEREK GRAND DOUCET

In addition to his responsibilities as the Director of Middlebury Outdoor Programs, Derek advises the Middlebury Mountain Club and is responsible for both the MOO and FOO outdoor orientation programs. Derek holds an M.A. in Adventure Education from Prescott College, and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He has worked for a variety of college outdoor education programs in both faculty and staff positions, is an Outward Bound instructor, and a professional member of the American Mountain Guides Association. He is also an active member of the Association for Experiential Education.
Karen is a good person to start with if you have questions about any of the programs that are coordinated with the CCAL office. Karen is a graduate of Champlain College.
David works with event planners on technical assistance on all aspects of events taking place in the McCullough Student Center and in other locations acorss the campus. David joins the CCAL staff from Atomic Professional Audio and holds a BA in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College.
