Amnesty International: A.I. works to free prisoners of conscience and to spread awareness of human rights issues. The Middlebury chapter of A.I. hosts letter-writing campaigns, brings in activists to talk about their experiences, fund raises etc.

College Democrats: MiddDems meets weekly to discuss the critical issues facing our country and to talk about what we want the Democratic party to stand for in the future. Through November 4th, we will be running a volunteer HQ Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10 in Hillcrest, mobilizing the campus to elect Barack Obama president.

Dialogues for Peace: Dialogues for Peace (DFP) is a neutral organization committed to discussions and concrete action on various global conflict-related issues. MiDDialogue: MiDDialogue seeks to bring together students interested in discussing issues that impact them on personal, local, and global levels. However, we discuss these issues without trying to determine whether a certain viewpoint is right or wrong. We believe the value of discussion is to be found in simply hearing and understanding the views of others.

Roosevelt Institution: Middlebury Branch: The Roosevelt Institution is the first (and only) student run think tank. Currently, there are over 120 RI chapters and Middlebury is one of the founding chapters. We are a nonpartisan organization that publishes progress public policy and trains America's future leaders.

Student Global AIDS Campaign: The purpose of this club is to increase the level of awareness and concern for the international spread of AIDS and to advocate local and global action. The Middlebury chapter is part of a global network of The Student Global AIDS Campaign. The organization on campus will organize letter-writing campaigns, exhibitions, speakers, films, and help fundraise for the UN AIDS Fund.

Student Investment Committee: The Student Investment Committee provides an opportunity for students to participate in the active management of a portion of Middlebury's endowment. The Committee is able to invest in domestic and foreign stocks, mutual funds, and options. The club also acts as a liaison between alumni in the financial services and students planning to pursue a career in finance. This goal is achieved through trips to Investment Banks and other financial institutions primarily in the New York and Boston areas. Additional activities include Trading Games with fellow colleges and universities and publication of a monthly investment newsletter.

Students for a Free Tibet (SFT): MISSION: Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) works in solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle for freedom and independence. We are a chapter-based network of young people and activists around the world. Through education, grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action, we campaign for Tibetans’ fundamental right to political freedom. Our role is to empower and train youth as leaders in the worldwide movement for social justice. VISION: In our work for Tibetan independence we also aim to inspire and enable people, especially youth, to create a just and equitable world, free of oppression, in which there is respect for the earth and all living things. VALUES: We believe every individual has the right to be free. Those who enjoy freedom have the power and also the responsibility to make positive change in the world. We seek to create opportunities to inspire, enable and motivate all people to see that change is possible. We value creativity in every pursuit and we believe it is essential to have fun while working towards our vision of a just and equitable world.
