Dining together is an important aspect of college residential life. It affords effective opportunities for intellectual and social exchange. Dining Services and the Dining Events will work with student groups to provide for special meals and functions
The mission of Middlebury College Dining Events is to provide on-going support of all campus activities (Students, Faculty and Staff) by providing the highest quality food & service that you would expect from Middlebury College. From informal coffee breaks to white tablecloth served meals, you can count on Midd Dining Events’ great attention to detail to make a simple luncheon or a Gala for 1,000 elegant and memorable. We will be happy to help you with all your arrangements from unique dietary requirements to flowers, tents and music.
Special Meals
Student groups wishing to hold special meals for their group must first get approval for funding through the Finance Committee. Please note that groups are routinely denied funding except in the case of cultural programs. If approved all meal functions must be arranged through Middlebury Dining Service.Barbecues
Arrangements may be made through Dining Events for grilles and food items for outdoor barbecues. Please note that you will also need the permission of the Director of CCAL to have an outside function. Additional arrangements will need to be made at the time of scheduling for trash cans, chairs, and tables. Clean-up for the event is the responsibility of the hosting group.
Black Out Dates
These are time periods that Catering can no longer take on new events due to the high volume of events already booked. Please use this when planning dates for events if Dining Events will need to provide you with food or beverages.
Alcohol
NOTE: The State of Vermont Liquor Control Board requires 21 days notice to process a liquor license for on campus events in non-licensed venues. Middlebury College requires ten (10) days notice for events with alcohol in licensed venues (dining halls, Grille, FIC. McCullough Social Space). Please allow for this extra time when planning your event
