Organizations and individuals scheduling any of the facilities of the McCullough Student Center (MSC) Social Space and Grille agree to the following:

Pre-event information and host

  • All event hosts must meet with a representative of CCAL at least two weeks before the event. At this meeting we will be able to discuss event details and offer assistance. Failure to meet with a staff member may result in a limitation of services.
  • All events using the MSC must submit the name of a contact person for the event. This individual will be the primary contact for CCAL, Student Supervisors, and Public Safety.
  • Hosts must be at the event, sober, available at all times, and not performing in the event.

Set-up and Break-down:

  • Organizations are responsible for the moving in/out and setting up/breaking down of any equipment brought into the facility.
  • Room set ups must be confirmed with CCAL. Please note that changes in set-up will alter the seating capacity.
  • Groups using equipment provided by the MSC (chairs, tables, equipment, etc) are responsible for returning the room to its standard set up. The Student Supervisor will inform groups of the appropriate set-up. Chairs must be reset in racks (30 maximum)

Decorations and Hanging Items:

  • Nothing is to be hung by any user from any rafter, pipe, curtain, light track, or other fixture without prior permission.
  • Nothing is to be affixed to the walls of the facility without prior approval. If permission is granted, all items must be removed after the event.
  • Duct tape and tacks are never permitted.
  • Windows and doors may not be covered without prior permission.
  • Glitter may never be used.

Use of flame

  • Candles, torches, or other fire producing items may not be used without permission.
  • With approval, encased candles may be used
  • Events involving flame as a part of the act are expressly prohibited. This includes juggling with fire, flame swallowing or throwing, and burning of items.

Technical Support and Equipment:

  • The McCullough Student Center provides limited sound and lighting support to students and organizations. Student organizations that are interested in staging an event in the Student Center Social Space have the option of hiring professional technical support from off-campus or hiring approved on-campus student technical assistants.
  • CCAL maintains a listing of approved student technical assistants for sound reinforcement and event lighting. It is the responsibility of the group’s leadership to contact the technical assistants to see if they are interested in the event and to schedule their time. Only students who have been cleared by CCAL are able to use the McCullough equipment. Student hosts must inform CCAL of the name of the student technical assistant. CCAL pays student wages (up to 5 hours per day for two days). Scheduling technical services is the responsibility of the student group.
  • CCAL does not provide direct technical assistance for programs. When planning your events please made sure to consider the availability of technical services as a part of you program planning process. CCAL will work with you and your group in assessing your event’s needs. The McCullough Student Center provides limited sound and lighting support to students and organizations.
