With the completion of the Ross Commons Dining Hall
and LaForce Hall in September 2002, Ross Commons became the first fully articulated of the Commons at Middlebury. Originally called "new dorms," the Ross complex now includes the Ross Fireplace Lounge, two "smart" seminar classrooms, laundry facilities, a small gym, television and movie lounges, several small kitchens, and a library for quiet study. Ross' dining hall is connected to its dormitories--come the cold winds of winter, you'll have one more reason to love Ross!

As a Ross student, you will find yourself inhabiting some of the most interesting living spaces on campus.  The Ross dorm spaces and the German and Russian language houses are described below.

webMilliken Milliken: Built in 1969 as a residence for 111 students, Milliken is the home of sophomore Ross students in singles, doubles, and suites. Milliken Hall is named after Gertrude Cornish Milliken (A.B. 1901, Ed.D. 1947), the first woman to serve as a Middlebury Trustee. Along with the attached buildings, Milliken was completely renovated in 1995.

Hadley, Kelly & Lang: These halls are home to all of Ross' sophomores and juniors, as well as a handful of seniors, in singles, doubles, and suites. Built in 1969 (Hadley) and 1971 (Kelly and Lang), the dorms extend northwards towards Bicentennial with west-facing windows providing views of many spectacular sunsets over the Adirondacks. Hadley Hall bears hte namesake of Egbert Hadley '10, who served as a college Trustee for over 30 years. Kelly Hall is named for Elizabeth Baker Kelly, who served as Dean of Women at Middlebury from 1946 until 1970. Lang Hall is named for Fred Lang '17, Middlebury graduate and longtime Trustee. Along with Milliken Hall, Hadley, Kelly, and Lang were substantially overhauled (and connected) during a renovation completed in 1995.
LaForce LaForce Hall:
Completed in 2002 along with Ross Dining Hall, LaForce holds 67 seniors in singles and suites. It also includes a seminar room, television lounge and study room.
