Passionate about my majors |

I do not come from a “typical” nuclear family — but who does, really? I have a gay father, his partner and son, a straight mom, a stepfather, and two half brothers. I identify as queer myself, which to me means that I live outside of the heteronormative model. I am co-chair of COLAGE, Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering children, youth, and adults with queer parents. On campus, I am involved with several activities, including working with the Alliance for Civic Engagement, singing with the Bobolinks a cappella group, and serving as co-president for MOQA (Middlebury Open Queer Alliance).
At Middlebury, I strive to work for social change and have a voice in what happens here. Although I have discovered that organizational systems can at times be daunting, the support I receive from my peers and professors gives me the encouragement I need to pursue my goals for social justice on campus and beyond.
