One thing I am: |
Master’s degree recipient from Harvard Divinity School |

A lot has changed since 1980, when I first came to Middlebury. The student body has grown, and I see a lot of gradations of skin color and people coming from different backgrounds. Another huge change is the number of activities offered. We almost have a nonstop array of lectures, symposia, and performances. This makes it easy for students on tight budgets to have meaningful and fun activities at no cost. There’s really no reason for anybody to be bored here.
Being an adviser about fellowships and the health professions has been very gratifying. The students value my advice and expertise. I take that seriously, and I take them seriously. The type of support and guidance that students need to be competitive in medical school and other health professions has become very demanding. So the time I spend advising — from the first year on through the application process and through reapplication process, when that’s necessary — is considerable. This year alone, we had 54 candidates for medical, veterinary, and dental school.
