PARKING FOR COMMENCEMENT (and Commencement site location)

Directions to Parking Lots for the General Public in order of close proximity. Once you arrive in Middlebury on Sunday, officers will direct you to the nearest available parking lot (please note: parking lots are closer than they appear):
Traffic will be heavy. We will have free shuttle service available from the Inn on the Green, Marriott Hotel, Middlebury Inn, and the Swift House at 7:45 a.m., 8:30 a.m., and 9:15 a.m. Returns will be available at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
(1) Mahaney Center for the Arts (General Public): From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear left onto Route 30S, continue south on Route 30 (South Main Street), turn left onto Porter Field Road, turn right into the Mahaney Center for the Arts parking lot (Lot H), go straight ahead.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 (South Main Street), turn right on Porter Field Road, turn right into the Mahaney Center for the Arts parking lot (Lot H), go straight ahead. Shuttle available.
(2) Kenyon Lot (General Public): From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear left onto Route 30S, continue south on Route 30 (South Main Street), turn left into Kenyon lot.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 (South Main Street), turn right into Kenyon lot. Shuttle available. (3) E Lot (General Public): From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear right onto Route 125W (College Street), turn right onto Weybridge Street (Route 23), take a left onto Shannon Street, follow until you must go left or right but instead, jog straight across and up into the parking lot.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 (South Main Street) and you will pass the Axinn Center (currently under construction). Beyond that, you will turn left onto Storrs Avenue and follow until you reach Rt. 125 (College Street). Go straight across to Shannon Street and after the church parking lot, you will turn left into "E" lots driveway which will bring you to the parking lot. (4) D Lot (General Public): From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear right onto Route 125W (College Street), turn right onto Weybridge Street (Route 23), continue down the street, turn left at the stone pillars (Freeman Way), go straight ahead bearing to the left.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 (South Main Street) and you will pass the Axinn Center (currently under construction). Beyond that, you will turn left onto Storrs Avenue and follow until you reach Rt. 125 (College Street). Turn right onto Rt. 125 and then turn left onto Weybridge Street (Route 23), continue down the street, turn left at stone pillars (Freeman Way), go straight ahead bearing to the left. Shuttle available. (5) Ridgeline Woods Lot (General Public): From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear right onto Route 125W (College Street), go past the blinking light, continue down the hill, turn left onto Ridgeline Road, and follow to the parking lot.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 (South Main Street) and you will pass the Axinn Center (currently under construction). Beyond that, you will turn left onto Storrs Avenue and follow until you reach Rt. 125 (College Street). Turn left onto Route 125W (College Street), go past the blinking light, continue down the hill, turn left onto Ridgeline Road, and follow to the parking lot. Shuttle available. (6) John M. McCardell, Jr. Bicentennial Hall Lot (General Public): From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear right onto Route 125W (College Street), go past the blinking light, continue down the hill, turn right onto Bicentennial Way, continue and parking lot is on the right.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 (South Main Street) and you will pass the Axinn Center (currently under construction). Beyond that, you will turn left onto Storrs Avenue and follow until you reach Rt. 125 (College Street). Turn left onto Route 125W (College Street), go past the blinking light, continue down the hill, turn right onto Bicentennial Way, continue and the parking lot is on the right. Shuttle available. (7) Handicap Drop-off (and very limitied parking--must have placard) for Commencement: North Old Chapel Road : From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear right onto Route 125W (College Street). After you see St. Mary's Church (on the right), turn left at the two pillars onto North Old Chapel Road. Look for signs for drop-off and parking (with placard, based on first-come, first-served).
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 until you pass the Axinn Center (currently under construction). Beyond that, turn left onto Storrs Avenue and follow until you reach Rt. 125 (College Street). Turn left onto Rt. 125 and turn left at the stone pillars. Look for handicap drop-off and parking (with placard, based on first-come, first-served) signs. Once the handicap parking spots are filled, drop-off will be still be available, but cars will be asked to park elsewhere (no standing or waiting). There are shuttles available from most parking lots. (8) Ceremony Parking for Honorary Degree Candidates and Trustees and others with a Commencement Parking Permit: South Old Chapel Road and Centeno Lot: From downtown Middlebury (Rt. 30S): Bear left onto Route 30 South (South Main Street), and after you pass the construction for the Axinn Center on your right, you will see a small brick building on the hill also to your right (Centeno--BEFORE the cemetary), turn right and then turn right again. Look for reserved parking signs on the right, or, continue straight through onto South Old Chapel Road and look for signs for reserved parking.
From the south (Rt. 30N): Travel north on Route 30 until you pass the cemetary on your left. Just beyond that, turn left BEFORE the small brick building on the hill (Centeno) and then turn right again. Look for reserved parking signs on the right, or, continue straight through onto South Old Chapel Road and look for signs for reserved parking. Commencement is on the Central College Lawn, in the vicinity of Munroe and Voter Halls (see #9 on the map above).
Commencement Site Location(9) Commencement Site Commencement is held on the Central College Lawn, in the vicinity of Munroe and Voter Halls. Parking for the General Public is in the Mahaney Center for the Arts parking lot, Kenyon lot, "E" lot, "D" lot, Ridgeline Woods lot, and Bicentennial Hall lot. We will have continuous shuttles from the following parking lots to the Commencement site: Kenyon, Mahaney Center for the Arts, Ridgeline Woods, Bicentennial Hall, and "D."
PLEASE NOTE: If we have inclement weather for Baccalaureate (Saturday), we will have shuttles available from the Mahaney Center for the Arts parking lot. |
