Hello, my name is
VERMONT
A celebration of where we come from, where we are, and where we’re going.
We would like to welcome you to Vermont, the truly unique place that will not only serve as a breathtaking backdrop to your years at Middlebury, but will truly shape your college experience! As part of your introduction, we want to celebrate both your old and new homes. That’s why you and all the other first-years, exchange students and transfer students will be dressing up in a way that represents where you are from – your hometown, province, state, city or country.
Everyone, including your residential life staff, will be in hometown flair or traditional wear, so get creative! Be as elaborate or simple as you like, but keep in mind that you’ll have to pack it to bring to college, and also that you’ll be wearing it all through dinner. That being said, there’s nothing wrong with eating dinner in a Dorothy costume (please, fellow Kansans, no one wear anything Wizard of Oz related).
You will learn all the details after the start of orientation on September 1. In the meantime, start planning your outfits and get excited! If you can’t think of anything to wear, keep in mind that there will be time to brainstorm during orientation week. It’s sure to be an aMOOsing and memorable affair.
If you have any questions, please email us at orientation@middlebury.edu.
