Health services for Bread Loaf students are provided at Parton Health Center on the main campus in Middlebury.

A "Self-Serve First Aid Center" is located in the Inn (near the main floor bathroom).  At that location are basic first aid supplies, over-the-counter medications and information on how to access the Parton Health Center and other local doctors and referral services.

For MEDICAL EMERGENCIES dial 911 to access Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association.  They will dispatch Ripton First Response to attend to you while awaiting the arrival of the ambulance. 

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:  

  • Bring your own prescription and nonprescription medications. This would also include topical creams such as lotions for bites, sunburns, itching, etc
  • Bring a copy of your immunization record.
  • It is not necessary to complete a health form prior to arrival at Bread Loaf.
  • If you have a chronic health condition, it is strongly recommended that you complete a health form and send it to Parton Heatlh Center prior to your arrival. This alerts the medical staff of your health history, concerns and needs. This form is available at:  http://www.middlebury.edu/campuslife/services/health/
  • Middlebury College provides accident insurance for students while enrolled in the summer session.
  • A land-line telephone is available at Bread Loaf to call Parton Health Center for information, discuss a condition or concern with a nurse - or to make appointments with a Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner or MD. Parton Health Center is located on the main campus at ext. 5135 or 802-443-5135.
  • The Bread Loaf shuttle bus is available to provide transportation by calling Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) at 388-1946.
