In order to plan for your health care this year, there are changes that are important for you to know about in 2008. In the past, emergency and basic health care on a limited basis has been provided through the Cornwall Clinic at Bread Loaf. As of May 2008, all care will be provided at Parton Health Center on the main campus of Middlebury College.
At Bread Loaf, a First Aid Health Center will be provided in a central location with basic first aid supplies and information regarding questions, making appointments and local referral services. And we continue in our commitment to provide you with quality care. In these mountain areas, we have local trained First Responders who are able to attend to more emergent concerns, while waiting for transport to the local hospital in Middlebury.
Please note the following:
- Bring your own medications. This would also include topical creams, lotions for bites, sunburns, itching, etc
- Bring a copy of your immunization record.
- It is not necessary to complete a health form prior to arrival at Bread Loaf.
- If you have a chronic health condition, it is strongly recommended that you complete a health form and send it prior to your arrival. This alerts Parton Health Center of your potential needs. This form is available at http://www.middlebury.edu/campuslife/services/health/
- Middlebury College provides accident insurance for students while enrolled in the summer session.
- A land line telephone is available at Bread Loaf to call Parton Health Center for information, discuss a condition/concern with a nurse or to make appointments with a Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner or MD. We are at campus x5135 or 443-5135.
- Transportation is available for those without a car by Bread Loaf shuttle or calling Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) at 388-1946.
