Parton Health Center has two inpatient beds available for students who require observation and care. If a student is not feeling well, she/he may call us at ext. 5135 and be evaluated by a nurse. Together with the nurse the student can decide if being admitted as an inpatient would be a good choice. Students are admitted for a variety of reasons such as illness with fever, injury, post-surgery care, and stress related symptoms.

Students who are feeling lonely, depressed or upset and do not want to be alone are encouraged to come and see a nurse.

There is no charge for staying at Parton Health Center. Occasionally, we have more students who would like to stay than we have beds. In those cases, we prioritize whose needs are best met at the health center and who could manage with extra support in their room. Students living within a reasonable radius of Middlebury sometimes choose to go home to recover from a more lengthy illness or injury.
