Student Health Services:
Parton Health Center is located in Centeno. For the 2008 summer session, Parton Health Center will be open:
6/16 - 6/29: Open 12 to 4 p.m.
6/30 - 8/15: Open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F;
12 to 4 p.m. on weekends. In the summer the health center offers care for acute illnesses and injuries. We also offer some travel immunizations for Middlebury College undergraduate students and referrals to medical resources in the community. Prior to starting the summer program, we strongly encourage you to see your primary care physician for chronic or long-term health concerns. We also recommend you bring your prescription medications with you, and if possible, an adequate supply to last through the summer.
Please note: Middlebury College offers allergy shots to our current undergraduate students.
The summer program can be intensive and stressful. If you have a history of or are now experiencing stress-related physical or emotional symptoms such as headaches, stomachaches, sleep disturbances, significant anxiety or depression, please consult your personal health care provider before arriving on campus. Parton Health Center and the Center for Counseling and Human Relations are available to assist you this summer if you experience any stress-related problems.

Care After-Hours:
When Parton Health Center is closed, students may go directly to the Emergency Department at Porter Hospital in Middlebury. The hospital is located less than two miles from campus.
SERIOUS MEDICAL EMERGENCIES need immediate attention by calling 911.

Accident Insurance:
Middlebury College provides accident insurance for students while they are enrolled in the summer session. Please refer to the 2008 Student Handbook for more specific details regarding insurance coverage.
Confidentiality:
Middlebury College health services maintains confidentiality of your records, appointments, and conversations. No information of a personal nature is discussed with anyone without your consent. Exceptions are made when there is a clear and present danger to you or the life of another person. In such cases, deans, your family, the Department of Public Safety and/or other personnel may be notified. An attempt will be made to contact the designated emergency contact person named on the Student Health Form if you are unconscious, critically ill, seriously injured or about to undergo emergency surgery. In such situations, the College's health care personnel reserve the right to notify the director or dean of the school.
