Scholarship Luncheon Brings Donors and Student Recipients Together
Middlebury’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon was held on May 12, 2012 at Atwater Dining Hall. With more than 200 guests in attendance, it was a wonderful opportunity for donors and student recipients to meet each other, many for the first time.
As of the 2011-2012 academic year, more than 300 expendable and endowed scholarships have been created which benefit more than 490 students per year. Thanks to the generosity of donors, Middlebury is able to offer more than $8.3 million in scholarship financial aid every year.
The event included two moving speeches from seniors Laura Heaberlin, recipient of the Edward N. Gosselin 1915 Scholarship, and Kennedy Mutothori Mugo, recipient of the Carolyn C. and Gregory W. Wheeler ’78 Scholarship. Their speeches captured all the power and promise that scholarship financial aid provides.
We wish to thank the many donors and students who joined us for this very special occasion.
