Changing Lives, Changing the World
Middlebury prepares students not only to be successful, but to live creatively, ethically, and responsibly in an increasingly global society. This kind of education nourishes those who are fortunate enough to experience it, but it also has a wider impact, preparing leaders who are fit to direct the institutions, shape the issues, and solve the problems of today and tomorrow. That’s why there is no more important gift you can make this year than a gift for need-based scholarships.
Middlebury aims to attract the best students from around the country and the world. The best discussions and opportunities for learning occur when people with different backgrounds and experiences come together to tackle a problem, ask the unexpected question, or embark on a complex project. Our goal is to create a community where students learn from each other, challenging assumptions and viewing the world from different perspectives. Financial aid is the key to creating this community. Increased support for financial aid is also the primary fundraising priority for the graduate programs—the Bread Loaf School of English, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conferences, Language Schools, and Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and scholastic and professional achievement.
How You Can Help
Whether you support an annual scholarship that can be spent entirely in the current year or build an endowed scholarship fund, you will help outstanding students to realize their dreams. And that’s just the beginning. Your investment in those students will yield returns for years to come, in ways you can’t anticipate, in communities far from Middlebury.
