Evgeny Dengub joined the faculty of the Davis School of Russian at Middlebury College in 2002. He is currently the Level 3 Lead Instructor.
A native speaker of Russian, Evgeny Dengub holds a Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College in Second Language Acquisition in Russian. He is co-author of two Russian language textbooks and the Russian language learning supplement to Russian Life magazine. Dr. Dengub has authored and led a variety of workshops and training sessions for teachers, both in Russia and the United States, and has supervised the work of teaching assistants at Amherst College. He is co-founder of the Online Resource Center for Teachers of Russian teachrussian.org, which at the moment includes more than a hundred published activities, lesson plans, tests, etc., for Russian teachers around the globe. As an active OPI and OPIc tester and rater, Dr. Dengub possesses thorough knowledge of ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, the oral proficiency test protocol, and proficiency-based instruction.
