Non-U.S. citizens must have a valid U.S. visa status that allows full-time study during the dates of the program to be eligible to apply.

Students cannot participate in our program with a tourist visa status (B-1/B-2) or through the Visa Waiver Program (ESTA) because neither allows for full-time study. U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents are eligible to attend.

International students who already have F-1 student status from a U.S. college or university may apply as long as they will maintain F-1 status throughout the dates of the summer session.

International students in another visa status that allows for full-time study may inquire to isss@middlebury.edu to confirm whether they are eligible to participate. Middlebury is currently seeking authorization to be able to issue visa documents to international students from outside the U.S. to attend the School of Korean.
