Middlebury College to Hold a Forum on the Issues of Same-Sex Marriage on Feb. 10

A forum on the issues of same-sex marriage will take place at Middlebury College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10 in Dana Auditorium on College Street (Route 125). The forum will encompass a wide range of the issues involved, including opposition to marriage from within the gay community, as well as how the topic relates to the current efforts of the Vermont legislature. The event is free and open to the public.

A panel will discuss the issues and then a question and answer session will take place. The panelists are: moderator and Middlebury College Professor of Russian Kevin Moss; Middlebury College Professor of Political Science Murray Dry; Middlebury College Dean David Edleson; Nina Beck and Stacy Jolles, who were plaintiffs in the case that brought the issue before the Vermont State Supreme Court; and attorney Beth Robinson of the Middlebury law firm Langrock, Sperry and Wool, who represented Beck and Jolles.
