A forum on the issues of same-sex marriage will take place at Middlebury College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10 in Dana Auditorium on College Street (Route 125). The forum will encompass a wide range of the issues involved, including opposition to marriage from within the gay community, as well as how the topic relates to the current efforts of the Vermont legislature. A panel will discuss the issues and then a question and answer session will take place. The panelists are: moderator and Middlebury College Professor of Russian Kevin Moss; Middlebury College Professor of Political Science Murray Dry; Middlebury College Dean David Edleson; Nina Beck and Stacy Jolles, who were plaintiffs in the case that brought the issue before the Vermont State Supreme Court; and attorney Beth Robinson of the Middlebury law firm Langrock, Sperry and Wool, who represented Beck and Jolles.
