There are two primary systems we utilize within Middlebury known as Oracle (as of April 2019) and Axiom (as of April 2021).

Oracle 

Oracle is our primary ERP system and our book of record, consisting of multiple modules. The two main modules known to you will be the following:

  • Oracle Fusion: This is our main financial system, the general ledger, payables, and purchasing all happen here.
  • Oracle HCM (Human Capital Management): This is the HR module thru which absences are recorded, and position costing is maintained.

It is worth noting that Oracle has BI Publisher reporting available and accessible by some users. These reports are maintained by GMHEC and not used directly by the Budget Office for financial management and communication with the front offices.

Axiom 

Axiom is our primary Financial Reporting system that replaced PBCS. Axiom draws summary and transaction data directly out of Oracle via nightly feeds and allows us to manage Budget vs Actuals for the institution as a whole. The VP’s Budget Administrators or Super-Users have direct access to this system.
