Our goal is to educate and partner with members of the Middlebury community to ensure they have the means to effectively identify, assess, control, and monitor their risks. In doing so, Middlebury is able to manage its risk exposure while seeking new initiatives that encourage innovation.

The ERM team engages key senior leaders and the Board of Trustees to identify and rank institution-wide risk. However, successful risk management at Middlebury also includes support at the departmental level, where risk is managed on a day-to-day basis. For this reason, department managers play a critical role in Enterprise Risk Management.
