Hours/Schedule: Open Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm. Flexible to meets student's schedule.

Primary Purpose

The Work Study students play a supporting role to the classrooom teachers in the following ways;

*Responsible for supervision of children in the absence of one of the regular classroom staff. For example; during breaks and planning time.

*Snack preparation.

*Helping with clean-up and other household chores including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, laundry, dishes, taking out trash and recyclables.

*Replenishing supplies, paper produsts, garbage bags and soap dispensers.

*Replenishing classroom supplies such as drawing and painting paper, paint containers, markers, making play dough, etc.

*Other duties at the discretion of the Classroom Teachers.

*Work study students are under the supervision of classroom teachers.

*Work study students are counted in teacher/child ratio.

*Work study students receive orientation and a handbook of center policies and guidelines for working in an early childhood setting.

Other

Must pass a background check for criminal record and abuse and neglect screening. Provide three personal written references. Be eligible for Middlebury College Off campus Work Study funding.
