The Programs Intern is an experienced Middlebury College student who serves as a para-professional member of the Center for Campus Activities and Leadership (CCAL) team. The key responsibilities of this position include:
Researching, developing, and assisting with the facilitation of skill-building workshops for student organization leaders
Researching, planning, and assisting with the facilitation of leadership development initiatives
Planning and organizing the fall and spring Activities Fairs
Assisting with the annual SGA Leadership Awards Program in the spring
Assisting with Winter Term Workshop logistics
Assisting with the development and facilitation of SYNC (a new collaboration, networking, and problem-solving council for all student organizations)
Training other students to facilitate workshops
Offering general assistance to CCAL visitors
Assisting with the registration and monitoring of student organizations
Managing CollegiateLink, our student organization management database, and serving as the main CollegiateLink trainer for student organizations
Creating new methods for getting student leaders more involved with CCAL activities and trainings
Assisting as needed with other CCAL projects that emerge over the course of the year
August 2 through mid-May at approximately 37.5 hours per week in August and 8-10 hours per week during academic year.
Education & Training
Skills and Experience: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks; top-notch organization skills; self-motivation and the ability to work independently on projects; positive attitude and interest in learning, thinking creatively, and working as a member of a team; high level of motivation, ability to inspire others, and commitment to serving as a role model; previous student organization and leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, InDesign, and CollegiateLink; familiarity with student organizations at Middlebury College.
