Course Management

WordPress, Moodle and Mediawiki are all platforms that can be used to manage course work. Each of these can be easily linked to the Course Hub, which in turn is linked to Banner to ensure course information is accurate and up to date.

WordPress is a very popular web publishing platform, particularly for blogging, that can also be used for course sites.  It is easy to make a public course site and only a few extra steps to set up a private blog accessible to only participants of your class.

Moodle is a learning management system that is widely used in higher education.  Moodle is particularly useful for online discussion, managing student assignment submissions and distributing files.

MediaWiki (the software that powers Wikipedia) can also be used for course work, particularly courses that involve extensive collaboration or "bottom-up" organization.
