Meeting in a Virtual Environment
Virtual environments such as Skype, Second Life or Elluminate allow individuals to meet in a common "virtual space" and communicate via chat or "real-time discussion," audio and/or video and often to share "virtual objects" such as whiteboards or virtual rooms.
What you need:
- An account with the service.
- An application, i.e. the Skype client or the SecondLife browser. These are provided by the service.
- A microphone.
- Headphones.
- A scheduled time to meet.
How to do it:
Arrange a time to meet and share meeting location coordinates. These coordinates might be a url to a virtual meeting room, lecture hall, square or coffee house.
It is recommended that you use headphones when participating in a virtual meeting. This removes the "echo" effect and the possibility of feedback.
