Modern Standard Arabic classes are divided into proficiency levels, and also into discussion sections... It's nearly the only opportunity to speak in MSA, rather than in the true dialect of the streets.

During the week, students get lunch at a variety of vendors around the campus. Felafel, shwarma, fuul, and kushari are popular and readily available.

On site staff plan cultural activities for students, ranging from visits to local places of worship to movie-and-pancake evenings.

The TAFL Center on the Faculty of Arts campus is where School in the Middle East classes are held.

Male students in the dorm have single rooms on a corridor shared with selected Egyptian hall mates.

Alexandria doesn't sleep for long... especially during Ramadan.

In the One-on-One classes, students have the opportunity to delve more deeply into specific aspects of the life, culture, and thought of Egypt and the broader Middle East.
