The one academic class you have during orientation, and your first opportunity to meet your academic advisor, who is also your First-Year Seminar instructor. Helping Students Find Their Way

Join us for a panel discussion on academic advising at Middlebury. Faculty colleagues from a range of disciplines, along with Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Andi Lloyd, will share their thoughts on how faculty connect with and guide students from first-year seminars through senior thesis work and beyond.  Ample time for Q and A.

Emergency Preparedness

Preparing for campus emergencies is not only a College responsibility; there are things each of us can do to prepare for a variety of emergency situations and threats. This program will provide guidance on what to do to prepare your own personal safety plan, including an introduction to campus resources. All students must attend one of the following sessions:

Prep for Winter Activities Afternoon

At 12:15 p.m., new students and orientation leaders will board buses traveling to Rikert Nordic Center and the Middlebury Snow Bowl. Not interested in skiing? Feel free to bring books, magazines, pillows, videos, and music for some great downtime.

You should bring all your gear to Atwater before Middlebury Uncensored. During this time you can change into your clothes for the afternoon and bring everything to the parking lot behind Johnson and Wright Theatre. Be sure to grab a bag lunch—you may eat on the bus or once you arrive.
