Getting Here

International Guests

International guests may need to apply for a tourist visa for entry into the United States to attend Commencement. Please visit the International Guest Travel page for further information.

Because visa processing times vary, we recommend taking the necessary steps to obtain a visa well in advance of planned travel. For more information, please consult the U.S. Department of State’s website for visa appointment and processing wait times

Please note: In 2017, President Trump established travel restrictions for certain visitors to the U.S.  For more information, please see:

Questions? Please contact International Student & Scholar Services at, or stop by our office located on the second floor of the Service Building.

We encourage parents and guests to make arrangements with other area lodging establishments as soon as possible. We do not allow sleeping in unreserved spaces on campus. Information on area lodging for Middlebury and the surrounding areas of both Vermont and New York can be found on the lodging page of the Commencement website.
