Applicant must have a significant record of environmental and public service, a GPA of 3.65, and an LSAT score of 160 or higher. The applicant does not apply to VSL but must be recommended by Middlebury College. Please submit the following to CCI office:
1. Letter of application, detailing the ways the applicant fulfills the scholarship criteria
2. Recommendation from ES faculty member and/or Middlebury pre-law advisor (Professor Murray Dry)
3. Official transcript
The agreement also applies to students who have completed graduate degrees from one of Middlebury’s programs or schools, including the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, Middlebury Language Schools, and Bread Loaf School of English.
Middlebury nominates/recommends qualified potential recipients to VLS and VLS makes the final choice. One or two Middlebury graduates/alumni will be selected to receive a full scholarship to attend VLS. The program includes candidates for a law degree, an environmental law and policy master’s (MELP), and a joint law-MELP degree.
