Services for Students

Parton is staffed by registered nurses, a nurse practitioner, and a physician. Students don't need an appointment to see a nurse at Parton. Nurses are available Monday through Friday during our walk-in hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ~ and from 6-9 p.m. for urgent concerns.  On weekends nurses are available from 12-4 p.m. Mark Peluso, MD and Laurel Kelliher, FNP are available to see students by appointment Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Extended physician coverage is provided 24-hours a day at Porter Hospital's Emergency Department which is less than one mile from campus.  Emergency care, laboratory tests, x-rays, and other Emergency Room care expenses provided to students are billed to the student's insurance company and/or charged to the student at the regular hospital rate.

Prevention of illness and promotion of healthy lifestyles is a priority for us.  Students can come to Parton for any reason they would see their primary care provider.  We can also refer students to private practitioners within our community if appropriate.
