Are you interested in becoming a class agent? Middlebury alumni have shown their dedication to the College since its very founding and it is that continued support which has enabled the College to grow and flourish. Through the class agent program, Middlebury alumni reach out to their classmates amd friends and help continue the cycle of giving.
To reach as many of our alumni as possible, our goal is to have four or more class agents per class, but there is no limit to the number of agents we can have! This position offers a wonderful way for you to touch base with some "old" friends, as well as to make a difference in the lives of current and future students, and the College as a whole.
Class agents are alumni volunteers responsible for class fund-raising efforts. They have proven to be highly effective liaisons between their classmates and the College and have been responsible for tremendous increases in alumni giving.
Specific responsibilities include:
-
Contacting 10-15 classmates through telephone calls or correspondence between September and June to ask for their participation in your class' fund-raising efforts.
-
Informing your classmates on current issues at the College and providing feedback on your classmates' interests and concerns.
-
Thanking classmates for their participation and gifts.
As a class agent and Middlebury volunteer you are invited, as a guest of the College, to the annual Alumni Leadership Conference at Bread Loaf in September. There is plenty of free time during the weekend to pursue your own agenda as well as stimulating events planned by the College. You also receive frequent mailings from the Office of Annual Giving updating you on all the College happenings.
I hope you will consider volunteering to serve as a class agent. This program is crucial to Middlebury's continued success. If you have any questions and/or would like to volunteer, please call Carolyn Roesler at the Office of Annual Giving, at (888) FOR-MIDD (367-6433), or e-mail her at croesler@middlebury.edu.
Many thanks,
