A century has passed since Middlebury philanthropist Joseph Battell bequeathed some 35,000 acres of mostly forested land to Middlebury College upon his death in 1915.

The Green Panther Challenge, a new effort to engage student athletes and their fans on sustainability issues, is hitting the road this weekend as Field Hockey, Cross Country and Football all head off campus.

The Green Panther Challenge hosted its first Perfect Sort Gameday at Saturday's Homecoming football game. Student athlete volunteers helped fans properly sort waste into recycling, compost and landfill bins.

Join Middlebury students this weekend for a clean energy bike rally, starting on the capital steps in Montpelier.  Students have challenged Vermont's gubernatorial candidates to replace Vermont Yankee with renewable energy.are working to make sure that Vermont Yankee is closed down and replaced with safe and affordable clean energy.
