Insurance

Personal Health Insurance:

In order to be certain that students will be assisted in meeting the unexpected and sometimes heavy expense of an illness or accident, Middlebury College requests all students to have personal health insurance. If you do not already have health insurance that will provide coverage while at Middlebury, you should obtain coverage prior to arrival on campus. International students, in particular, should ascertain that their health insurance is valid in the U.S.

Welcome Summer Students!

Parton offers a variety of health and counseling services to students participating in our Vermont campus summer programs.

We also offer limited health services to summer faculty and staff. Counseling for faculty and staff is available in the local community, but not on campus.

Details on specific services offered during the summer can be found at the links below:

Lessons from an octopus: student studies invertebrate learning [video]

As senior Alexa Warburton opens the door to the cephalopod lab, a pungent smell escapes into the third-floor hallway of Middlebury College’s McCardell Bicentennial Hall. “It smells like the ocean,” she comments. And it should. Warburton, a senior biology major from Hopkinton, N.H., is spending her summer studying a member of the cephalopod family, Octopus bimaculoides . Her goal is to study the way these saltwater creatures learn, thereby furthering the already-extensive body of research on invertebrate intelligence.
