Middlebury

Faculty Grants 2011-2012

The Jack Miller Center has awarded the College a grant to help with the expenses of Constitution Day events to be held at Middlebury this fall. This grant is the result of a proposal submitted by Keegan Callanan, a new member of the Political Science department, with the assistance of Murray Dry. The Jack Miller Center is “dedicated to enriching education in America’s founding principles and history.”

What do I do with the award documentation?

If the grant will fund your scholarship and research, give the original paperwork to the SRO. If the grant has been awarded for an institutional project, give it to the CFR.

I need something for my project that wasn’t listed in the grant budget awarded—can I charge it to the grant?

You probably can, but first you must check with our office or the Grants Accounting Office. If your grant terms allow the College to authorize the expenditure, fill out an OPAS form to request the budget changes from the Controller's office.

How can I find out what sponsors are funding these days?

Browse sponsors' sites for current opportunities. Some sponsors post the abstracts of recently funded proposals on their websites. Talk to Program Officers; consult with colleagues who've recently been funded.

Contracts and Grants Policy

Please note: In light of ongoing changes in federal regulations and administrative structure, this section must be revised annually. Please check with the dean of curriculum and faculty development, the Sponsored Research Office, or the office of Corporate and Foundation Relations if you have questions regarding administrative policies or procedures.

Faculty Grants

A strong indicator of the merit of the research conducted by Middlebury faculty is their success in securing external research funding. The Sponsored Research Office celebrates this success by publishing news of all awards in MiddPoints and on this website.
