Are Maintenance and repair cost capitalized?
No. Costs associated with maintenance and repairs are expensed in the period incurred. Examples are; custodial services, repainting a room, fixing a leaky faucet, and replacing parts to an engine.

The Facilities Services Maintenance and Operations division is a cohesive, dedicated group of employees trained and experienced in every principal trade required for the maintenance of campus facilities. This team of individuals creates and sustains our environment in a manner consistent with Middlebury's educational mission.
