The Middlebury women's soccer team will present a three hour clinic for youth players on April 21st, 2013. The program is open to boys and girls ages 6-13 and will include instruction, fun games and match play. Participants will have the opportunity to work with their favorite Middlebury soccer players while learning fundamental skills, clever tricks and key elements of the game in a fun, challenging, supportive soccer environment. Weather has caused two postponements of Middlebury athletic events. The Rensselaer @ Middlebury women's lacrosse game scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th at 6:00 p.m. has been moved to Wednesday at the same time. The men's lacrosse game at St. Lawrence scheduled for the same day will now be played on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
University of Vermont junior Anja Gruber (Leutkrich, Germany) skied to victory in the women's 5-kilometer classic race at the Rikert Nordic Center on Thursday, helping the Catamounts retain the lead after the second day of the 2013 NCAA Skiing Championships hosted by Middlebury College.
With men's winner Jonathan Nordbotten (Kolbotn, Norway) leading the way, the University of Vermont seized the lead as the 2013 NCAA Skiing Championships began with giant slalom races at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl on Wednesday.

The Middlebury College basketball teams will host NESCAC Quarterfinal games on Saturday, February 16th. The men will take on Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m., with the women to host Bates at 4:00 p.m. Tickets, which gain you admission to both games, are priced at $5 for adults, $3 for students.
Middlebury College has completed the installation of snowmaking equipment on five kilometers of trails at the Rikert Nordic Center, a 50-kilometer cross-country skiing area in Ripton, Vt., owned and operated by the college.
Due to the impending storm expected to blanket the northeast, several schedule changes have occurred for Middlebury College Athletic events. The men’s and women’s NESCAC basketball games scheduled for Friday, February 8th vs. Trinity have been moved to Sunday, February 10th. The men will play at 5:00 and the women will follow at 7:00. Saturday’s games vs. Amherst have now also been postponed. The men’s game will be made up on Tuesday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m., while the women will play on Wednesday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m.
Middlebury College women’s soccer is pleased to announce it’s 2013 summer camp for high school girls. The camp will take place on the Middlebury campus from Monday, June 24th through Wednesday, June 26th. Head coach Peter Kim, along with the Middlebury staff and guest coaches will lead this intensive three-day program designed to introduce high school players to college-level training as well as provide insight into the college search process. Middlebury College squash coach John Illig recently earned his 500th career win as an intercollegiate coach. Now in his sixth year at Middlebury, his career record now stands at 506-314 over 22 years of coaching squash. He spent his first five years coaching at Colby, before taking over the job at Bates in ’96-’97. Following 11 years as a Bobcat, Illig took over coaching duties at Middlebury in ’07-’08.
Middlebury College field hockey and ice hockey player Lauren Greer was one of three athletes honored by the Vermont Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association for their efforts in the month of November. The VSSA chose Richford High School senior runner Elle Purrier as its Female High School Athlete of the Month, Champlain Valley Union senior soccer player Shane Haley as its Male High School Athlete of the Month, and Greer as its Open Division Athlete of the Month.

Tight end Billy Chapman earned a spot on this week's D3Football.com national team of the week. Chapman caught eight passes for 94 yards including the opening score during a 50-21 win over Hamilton in the rivalry Rocking Chair game on Saturday.
Five members of Middlebury's offensive line were named to this week's D3football.com Team of the Week. The quintet spearheaded another 500-yard day for the Panther offense. Blake Shapskinsky, Harris Huguenard, Ben Green, Ling Zhou and Ryan Moores kept Bates' aggressive defense at bay en route to a 38-23 victory on Saturday.
D3Football.com named Zach Driscoll to their weekly Team of the Week. The senior receiver racked up 12 receptions for a career-high 250 yards with three touchdowns in the Panthers’ 30-13 win at Williams. Besides leading the NESCAC in receptions/game (9.75) and receiving yards/game (144.5), he sits second and third, respectively, in those categories in all of Division III.
For half a century, Middlebury College student athletes have helped local resident Butch Varno - who suffers from cerebral palsy - enjoy sporting events and other activities in the community. The tradition began back in 1960, when Roger Ralph, a 1963 Middlebury College graduate, saw Varno's grandmother struggling to push Butch's wheelchair through snow and mud on the way home from a football game and offered to pick them up.
Billy Chapman has been tabbed as the tight end on this week’s D3football.com Team of the Week. Chapman set a career-high with 12 catches in a 24-3 victory over Amherst on Saturday. He ended the day with 110 yards receiving, and two touchdown grabs.

Each year community volunteers make a big impact at local non-profits during the Addison County United Way Days of Caring. On Saturday, September 22nd, over 60 athletes from four Middlebury College athletic teams took time from their busy schedules to volunteer during the 18th annual Days of Caring around Addison County painting, cleaning, and providing maintenance support at local non-profits.

Recent Middlebury College graduate Margo Cramer '12 has been chosen as one of the top 30 nominees for the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Cramer was a two-sport standout for the Panthers, starring in both cross country and track and field.
The IWLCA has recognized 61 schools in Division III as earning Academic Squad honors for the 2012 season. Every school with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher earned Academic Squad honors.
The Middlebury College men’s and women’s tennis team have both earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award. The honor is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
