The camp will be a fun and intensive training and learning program for high school girls who are reaching for the collegiate level. It will include both on-field training and classroom sessions. Billy Chapman was recently chosen by d3football.com as a first-team tight end on the website’s national preseason All-American team. Chapman had a prolific season in 2011, leading the NESCAC with 57 receptions. He was second in the conference with 635 yards receiving, while his five touchdown catches were two off the NESCAC pace in 2011.
Middlebury College is hosting its first Summer ITA Tennis Tournament. Students from 22 Colleges and Universities will be competing in this year’s event, as well as high school players from across the region.
Former Middlebury College men's lacrosse player Mike Stone ’09 recently played in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star game on June 30th in Palm Beach County, Florida. Stone is currently in his third season with the Boston Cannons, enjoying his best year yet with 15 goals and five assists through eight games.
For the first time in school history, Middlebury College has won the Directors’ Cup. The competition is sponsored by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and Learfield Sports, in NCAA Divisions I, II and III and in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
The Middlebury College women's lacrosse team will make its 15th trip to the NCAA Final Four when they take on Salisbury this weekend in a semifinal match-up at Montclair State. The Panthers will take on the Gulls at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th, with Trinity and Cortland State to follow at 4:00 p.m. The NCAA Championship game will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Middlebury College women’s lacrosse team defeated defending national champion Gettysburg, 15-9, in the NCAA Regional Finals on Sunday afternoon. The victory sends the Panthers (15-4) to the final four to face top-ranked and unbeaten Salisbury University (21-0) in the national semifinals on Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at Montclair State University.
Ken LeStrange received the Collegiate Scholar-Athlete Award from the Vermont Chapter of the National Football Foundation at the organization’s annual banquet. LeStrange, a captain and three-year starter on the offensive line, was a key component during the most prolific three-year offensive production in Middlebury history.

The Middlebury men’s golf team successfully defended its status as the NESCAC Golf Champions on Sunday afternoon at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass. The Panthers, who have now won four of the last six conference crowns, managed to increase their single-stroke lead over Williams following day one by seven and finished with a two-day total of 626.

A scout representing the National Football League's Washington Redskins and BLESTO Scouting visited Middlebury College on Saturday, April 7 to interview and evaluate junior offensive lineman Ryan Moores (Gloucester, Mass.). The offensive tackle was timed in the 40 yard dash, measured, and evaluated on film and on paper.

The Middlebury men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over Tufts in a NESCAC match played on campus. The Panthers took all three doubles matches by scores of 8-4, with six straight-set victories in singles play. Alec Parower, ranked 37th, earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at #1, while #44 Brantner Jones was a 6-0, 6-0 winner.
The Middlebury College field hockey team recently received the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Team Award. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

The nordic ski team was recently in action at the College Cup races taking placing in Maine. The Panthers finished fourth overall among 18 teams scoring at the event, as they prepare to open the carnival circuit this weekend at Bates.
Middlebury College women’s soccer players Julia Favorito (Winchester, Mass.) and Scarlett Kirk (San Francisco, Calif.) were both named to the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) New England All-Star team. Favorito earned a spot on the first-team, while Kirk was a second-team selection.
Middlebury College men’s soccer seniors Robbie Redmond (Morristown, N.J.) and Otis Pitney (Washington, D.C.) were both named to the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) New England second-team. The duo helped lead the Panthers to an 8-4-4 record in ‘11, including a NESCAC Tournament first-round upset victory over Wesleyan.
The Middlebury Women's lacrosse team will offer a clinic and 5v5 tournament on Sunday, March 4th on Peter Kohn Turf field. The tournament is for women's lacrosse players in grades 10-12 only. Nine members of the Middlebury College softball team earned academic honors when the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) announced its scholar athletes. Each honoree must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher through the spring season. Earning the honor for the Panthers were Nellie Wood, Alyson Downing, Geena Constantin, Kelsey Chisholm, Emily Burbridge, Alex Scibetta, Megan Margel, Ashley Higgins and Kimber Sable.
