Michael Joseph, a six-foot seven-inch pitcher, plans to play minor-league baseball next spring and graduate from Middlebury in 2014.

Middlebury College pitcher Michael Joseph (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) has signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Joseph, who is entering his senior year plans to return to Middlebury in the fall, before taking a leave of absence in the spring of ’13 to join the Orioles system. He hopes to return to Middlebury in fall of ’13 and graduate in February of ’14.

Castleton State broke open a 2-0 game with six runs in the sixth inning, on its way to a 13-0 win over Middlebury in a non-conference game on Forbes Field.

Middlebury dropped a non-league game on Thursday, falling to the Panthers of Plymouth State. The host school used six pitchers combined to limit Middlebury to seven hits in a 5-0 win at Panther Park.

Castleton State broke open a 2-0 game with six runs in the sixth inning, on its way to a 13-0 win over Middlebury in a non-conference game on Forbes Field. The Panthers return to action on Thursday at Plymouth State, while the Spartans will play in the NEAC Championship series this weekend.
