In the event of an emergency, the College will use Emergency Notification Systems (ENS) to provide timely information and updates for students, parents, faculty, staff and other members of the campus community.   For more information about emergency notifications systems at Middlebury College, click here.

Emergency Notification Systems

Safety Issues

Safety concerns that can be addressed through repair work should be reported to Facilities Services.
Place a request online.

Other concerns should be reported to the campus Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator at 443-5726.


Timely Warning

In the event that a dangerous criminal situation is reported to Public Safety or the Middlebury Police, either on or off campus, that, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety and in consultation with the Middlebury Police, when possible, constitutes an ongoing or continuing threat, a campus-wide "timely warning" will be issued.   The warning will be issued through the College's email system.

Alerts Delayed 2 Hrs

DPS creates and distributes Safety Alerts when a specific safety issue arises and requires public notification.  For support and safety reasons, we have located this feed off-site at Google Sites.

Because of this, alerts may be delayed up to 2 hours.
